Did you know that...

Geocaching - High Tech Nature

During a hike with some friends in some geologically interesting place in Värmland, Claes Giljegård showed me his Garmin Etrex Venture GPS receiver, and explained all about how it could be used for something called Geocaching. I got extremely excited and when I quit chewing tobacco, I had an excellent present to buy for myself - a GPS receiver.

I bought a Garmin Etrex Legend C, and with this device I have been dragging my wife and children around the country side, for a while now. It is excellent fun, and you get to see places you would never see otherwise.

In 2009, my buddy Frank was on a business trip to the U.S. and bought my new GPS for me (I paid!). It is the new Colorado 300 and it is working like a charm.

To become a treasure hunter yourself - buy a GPS and check out geocaching.com to get an idea of where the treasures are hidden near you.

Without exhaggerating, I must say that Geocaching is the coolest hobby ever!
